Big Girl On Campus

It was Lia's first day of preschool today. She was EXCITED!!! She's only been talking about this day since school started for Alec and Brielle. No first-day jitters for her.

Lia with Mrs. Walker, Miss Joyce is in the background; these were Brielle's preschool teachers. They about had heart attacks when they realized this was the baby I was pregnant with when Brielle was in preschool.

On Saturday I put flower-barretts in Lia's hair that I made. She allowed them to be in her hair long enough for me to take pictures of them, then she wanted them O-U-T!!!

Alec made vegetable art for a creativity badge with scouts. I think his den leader should get a creativity badge for imaginative uses of overabundant garden vegetables. He made a car (couldn't see that one coming) and a spider in honor of Grandma Janet.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not

This morning on the way to soccer, Brielle shocked me. Brace yourself, she actually said, "Mommy, when are we going to get my hair cut?" I ain't no dummy; I sprung into action and booked an appointment to see Kelly immediately. Lia decided she wanted a hair cut too, so we accomodated her as well. The hair cuts went well and we are all pleased with the results.

Alec was too busy playing with Bryce to pose for a picture, so we had to shoot him as he road by. Unfortunately it took three shots for mom to get the timing right of when to take the picture. This put him significantly behind Bryce, but he's a trooper.

Lia got her haircut too, Calley added more bangs to fix the hair that naturally falls into her eyes. Hopefully this will lead to fewer "Do you have a mommy little girl?" days.

As for me I finished my first week at Big D. These people are big believers in early morning meetings, yesterday's meeting was at 6:30am, I think they are trying to kill me. I have also been introduced into the world of different colored copies, they have a different color for about everything they do. The project is huge, way bigger than anything I've ever worked on before, it will be a good learning opportunity for me.

Sadie Ruth Weakley

This is Sadie Ruth Weakley born August 29, 2008 to Randi and Keith. She is beautiful, mellow, and calm and it takes quite a bit to wake her. (Mom and Aunt Shelley annoyed for about 10 minutes straight before she finally woke up.)
I got to hold her for a long time, I tried to feed her, but I didn't have the positioning right (I was using the binky position, not the bottle position) so dad had to take over so I could watch. Congratulations Randi and Keith and big sister Haili!!!

Ice Cream With a Beautiful Girl

While the other kids were in school, and before Kindergarten started for me, Lia and I made a visit to the Winder Dairy Country store on Thursday. As you can see by her pose, she is a fan of going to ice cream.

You may want to notice her two bubber-bands with pink flowers in her hair, the flowers were put in at her request; they perfectly tie in with the turquoise shirt as sort of an '80's genre color combination which is now quite popular again.

Back To School Part II...

Lia & Brielle got new backpacks today for school from Grandma and Grandpa, they modeled them for me...
Here's who you talked to on the phone today Grandpa!! Notice her two gween bubber-bands, they are not pigtails or ponytails, they are bubber-bands.
She looked out the window and what did she see? Blossoms popping on the apricot tree...
And ever-serious Alec practicing his new typing skills at the computer.

Airplanes for Labor Day

We went to the Hill Aerospace Museum up at Hill AFB for Labor Day. We met up with the Sonntags and toured the museum together.



Sometimes it is the simple things, like the quarter-roller-thing, that fascinate the kids. They watched their coins with the greatest of interest.
